Frustration Galore

Frustration: such word I hate but is just an inextricably a part of me. Can I do something about it?

G.S. Boy playmates abused my innocence. School friends didn't think I belong with them. Buried myself in the boring world of books and notes.

H.S. Left out by my girl group in school. Never wanted to be in a girl group again. I find it overbearing. Joined with the guys.

College. Broke my trust by the biggest, coolest group in class where I once belonged. Never had a peer group ever since.

Finance: My P1000 lost (coz of unpaid dept by my OWN FAMILY). I didn't even had my hair trimmed and relaxed. I won't lend my money EVER AGAIN. They're abusing my kindness.

Debut: I wanted it a formal one to be held in the *Full House-like function house by the lake in Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife in Q.C. I wanted my gown to look like a flowing dress of blue and green. I wanted to be all made up even just once. But as the day approached, I just realized that it would never happen.
*from the Korean drama in GMA

It turned out to be a not well-prepared buffet at home. And I became the waitress.

Acad: Why did I let myself fail that Algebra??? I've paid HALF the price of it by taking a special class. Next summer I'll take Trigo (the subject in which Algeb's the prereq).

END NOTE: I dunno.

The Proust Questionnaire

featured by buji babiera

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
- Contentment. When you become contented with the good things you already have, you won't have to seek more. You'll be happy, and happiness may just become ALMOST perfect.
What is your greatest fear?
- Fear of being rejected/left out/misunderstood/not understood at all
Which living person do you most admire?
- My boyfriend. He can be so effortlessly friendly and approachable (he's also good in Math and in computers) while with just a word I can make others hate me.
What is the trait you most deplore in others?
- The trait of not thinking that we are responsible for other people (strangers, distant relatives, etc). I mean, why just be good to those close to you???
What is your greatest extravagance?
-Wearing dangling earrings and make up on perfectly ordinary days. Sometimes, material things can make me feel beautiful and accepted.
What is your favorite journey?
- Journey from home to UST and back. This is the only way for me to learn those social skills I should have developed in childhood and high school.

On what occasion do you lie?
- When I don't want my wretched emotions known.

Which living person do you most despise?
- People who just don't think that they are responsible for other people. So ibig sabihin marami akong kagalit: some family members, classmates now and then, friends, neighbors, acquaintances, sometimes even myself.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
- Ewan and I don't know. (No, these are the words.)

What is your greatest regret?
- Trusting friends/would-be friends too soon.
Where and when were you the happiest?
- Sometimes with my boyfriend, sometimes when doing silly senti stuffs.
What is your current state of mind?
- I wanna devour the contents of our college books.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
- Introversion and wariness. These two hinder me from growing up.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
- To prove once in a while that I'm no-brainer. (hai, sobrang baba na tingin ko sa sarili ko eh, I'm so clumsy talaga)
If you were to die and comeback as a person or a thing, what would it be?
- A reincarnated me. Aayusin ko buhay ko from DAY ONE (hahaha).
What is your most treasured possession?
- Those few person who still think that I'm part of their lives.
What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
- Being alone. that feeling sucks the purpose of existence out of one's life.
Where would you like to live?
- On the umblemished places of my country, where I could just be myself.
What is your favorite occupation?
- Well, I wanna be a college prof. I'm not that smart myself, but I have this drive to excel academically and share my knowledge to the future generations. I'll influence them in such a way that if I can't do something to change the future of the country, I'll make sure they will. And if my parents want me to work abroad, I'll be a preschool teacher (in-demand till 2011 ata, haha)
What is your most marked characteristic?
- anatomy: mole on my face (bangaw/ piece of chocolate daw) - other things??? I dunno. Maybe being opinionated, making myself looking strong, and helping my few friends if possible
What is the quality you like most in a man?
- gentleman qualities
Who are your favorite writers?
-JK Rowling, Mitch Albom,Nick Joaquin, yeah...
Who is your favorite hero of fiction?
-Dr. Gregory House. Very masungit (snobbish) eh. But despite his weirdness,I know he does his work to save others
Who are your heroes in real life?
- My parents. Very industrious. See, even now that my father doesn't work anymore, with his bank savings we, remaining 4 children, can still finish college.
What is that you most dislike?
- Many aspects of myself and people who just don't think that they are responsible for other people, dishonesty, infidelity. corruption.
How would you like to die?
- I imagine myself dying coz of an incurable disease. I'll take my last vacation in Bora or in a Caramoan(in Camarines Sur) beach. On a starry night, I'll leave the comfort of the house/hotel or inn room and wander on the shores. I'll do it every night till death seize me.
What is your motto?
- Honestly I don't have a motto. Maybe this principle can be considered as a motto:If I can't change the future, I'll make sure THEY will.

Seemingly Unfazed By My Own Mediocrity

That's what they might have unconsciously perceived of me.

faze n. disturb the composure of
mediocrity n. state of being not good (enough)

One of my problems. Long-time problem. Might be MY GREATEST.
How come?

I spent my middle childhood and adolescence inside the comfort zone of our home.
On that critical/sensitive period, I didn't learn socialization, good interpersonal relationships, group communication and show of emotion PROPERLY. I can't handle being in a peer group. So I truly belong to none of them.

Obviously, I LACK EXPERIENCE.

And even inside the home, I'm like an alien to my siblings. So different from them.
Even more different from my cousins. I'm this homebuddy... a nerd, sometimes a "house helper" (helping Mom do the household chores that I know how to do like sweeping and scrubbing the floor...)

You know what I mean? Well, it's alright that I'm a nerd and a "house-helper" inside the home.
But outside, I don't know who I am. I don't know how I would break the ice. I don't what's in and out in fashion, sports (In HS, I don't know what's UAAP, pathetic.), TV (PBB??? I don't know what makes it tick. Honestly, they're just like spying on the occupants of a house), music (Emo? Pls. define. And what makes someone EMO?), technology (Wow, what's that? It's DOTA. Oh, I'm sorry... Nice iPhone, I don' know how to play Snake with this keypad-less thingy.)...the list is endless.

I'm a nerd. Yes I am. I devour my books. Literally, my fave books are all looking battered. Wrong handling, I suppose. But I don't know the know-how's of this world. I'm just a mediocre person. Worse, I'm already an adult (18)...still I'm terrified when our car halted in the middle of the road inside the tunnel in Ayala. Still, I'm afraid to learn new stuffs...like making adobo or ride a scooter. I'm afraid to date people, even acquaintances. I'm afraid to venture outside our school campus. I have to gain as much experience as what I should have accumulated during those period from Grade4 to Fourth Year HS. And The weird thing is, I have to learn alone. So scary.

Yes, I'm mediocre. But what makes it worst is my expression.
I look aloof. Snob. Thinks highly of myself. Might be my defense mechanism to hide my inferiority.

And honestly, why I do that is because I don't know how to react properly in a particular situation. Not crying in my lola's funeral. Laughing "pilit" though I know myself that something is obviously hilarious. Cracking a corny joke with a frown, imagine that! As if I'm just a robot in human flesh and blood and bones. I look "ewan" at times. Oblivious to what's happening to my environment. Speaking words which hurt. Doing things in a haywire. As if my programs are full of viruses and my CPU is malfunctioning. Not really detectable. My composure is still there. I don't look troubled. Only serious. My problem is seen by others as loss of concentration or selective attention, slow reaction, no reaction, indifference, pride, mediocrity (yes, I finally found the exact word)...

But I'm still human...in another sense. That I'm easily hurt. That I sometimes express myself in exaggerated ways. That I'm inferior to try even the most banal of things. That I need help. That I need people who can see through me. That while others see me with my chin up, I, on the other hand, am looking down on myself.

Eighteen...and Still Holding a Pop

I just turned eighteen last Feb. 18. The night before, we ate, talked, sang, opened gifts, etc. But I slept early because I don't want to be late in my 7AM English class.
Kriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing! 6AM. I woke up when the service had just passed by the bakery where I would wait for it. Waaah. New start. "SAYA..." Still I celebrated my exact birth date (Feb. 18 at 3PM) with someone I dearly love.
OKAY. Done with the past.
Now I tell the whole world, I AM STILL WHO I AM.
According to chronology, I'm eighteen.
According to the law, I'm entitled to have a driver's license, to be married without parental consent, to vote for the new batch of corrupt politicians, etc. etc.
According to the Phil. society, I am an ADULT. Oh c'mon, I don't look like one.
But still, I'm still a child at heart.
Oblivious to many things in the world.
Intentionally using my selective attention to its fullest gear.
Coz I'm still not ready to face the world.
The harsh reality of this adult world.
The responsibilities of being an adult.
I'm still trying not to care about many things coz I don't want the remaining part of me to be corrupted fully.
By lies, pretension, unequal diffusion of responsibility, nonchalance, etc.
I am still a child who literally and figuratively still hold on to my cola-flavored Magic Pop.
A child whose principles are slowly tested by practicality.
You may not agree with me...but when you turn eighteen, it is nothing for you.
Nothing or something.
I'm my case, it's a BIG change.
Coz because of this number,. I AM FORCED TO ACT AN ADULT. SOMETHING THAT I DETEST.
Because when you turn to an adult, the sheer volume of responsibility for yourself and for others may either regress you into a child again, or make you quite insensitive.

Magic Pop Noon, Chupa-cHups Ngayon

Life at eighteen changes EVERYTHING.
I've changed my pop-preferences LITERALLY.
Metaphorically, choices seem to have changed, too. My preferences.
I've grown into this lazy cat who wants to prefer that road not less traveled,
to escape when it's boring already (I didn't attend my Logic classes three times, BUT returned to the adjacent room to attend Theology.),
to stay late NOT to study but to hold Q&A with my bestfriend.
I've tried to grow up (with no success...)
Still...
I am who I am, your opinion isn't desired nor required. (www.glitterbell.com)
This is still wrong, perhaps. Coz we need to grow up. Stand up with nobody's aiding you and face the world chin up (and without a pop dangling between the lips).
And now, I'm slowly....painstakingly letting go of the multiflavored Magic Pops of my past 18 years....the past hurts...past loves(infatuations, to be exact)...bad memos that must have been long gone had I let them fall from my hands.
And now prefer my CHUPA-CHUPS: the Good Side of College, A Year of Love, A Prayer for a Friend Answered...Life Life Life though it's still kinda suicidal.

1Psy-1 Clique-ster

Coz pag wala kang clique sa P1-----OUT KA!
(terrible, indeed...)

HALIMAWS aka The Cum Laudes
In fact... mga D.L. wannabes sila.

Pala-DOTA, nag-iinuman on special occasions, etc.
At least naman hindi sila irreg noh....

The ELITE
Sila ang mga mayayaman.
Mga mahilig sa party at out of town vacations.

The Gurlz
Average ang grades but at least halos lahat sila regular students.

The MOST PROMINENT GROUP
Sila ang pinakainfluencial
pinakaboisterous
pinakahyperactive group sa P1
The largest group din ito kasi almost all members ng Cum Laudes and the Elites ay identified din sa group na ito
Mahahaba ang galamay nila.
Very clannish.
At talagang pag P1, sila ang mapapansin kaagad.

And it is really showing na clannish and "clique-ish" ang 1Psy-1 2007-2008.

Time to Type Idly...what happened last friday and today, monday.

2:39:21 PM

Felt like typing idly.
Stopped researching (fed up with it).
This is the first day of the Science Week 2008.
Can't F-E-E-L it!!!
Or maybe just because I won't go to the exhibits.
M' only damned friend thinks it's corny...childish...nerdy.
Now he's on a date and I'm left here to do what a nerd loves:
Study-slash-research-slash-blogging-slash-texting-slash-listening to music (well, a while ago)
Boring, haha... (stops...thinks this blog's trash...)

Basta kaninang umaga, before 6:13AM kami umalis ni kuya.
dumating NLEX...traffic...almost an hour usad-linta.
Dahil pala sa 3 vehicular accidents sa NLEX bet. Valenzuela and Balintawak.

Week ay isang nakaka-nosebleed na lecture from a marine biologist/biochemist from UPD Marine Sciences Institute.

The Laughables

My teachers are not only weird, but also funny. Here are some "whatever" thingies they have said in class:

Ma'am Vergara: 'Yung SARS...S-I-R...saka 'yung CowHead Disease...
(Mad Cow Disease po...)

Ma'am Vergara: Alam niyo ba ang Florante at La-u-wa, hah???

Ma'am Ong: And then there's the 'bongga-cious' entrance of Claudius...

But then the major source of "stipulative" definitions and "imaginary" terms is our Logic Prof:

"Essence is the whatness of things."

"The essence of the crocophant is a cross-breed between a crocodile and an elephant."

"Baka basahin n'yo 'tong chemistry ng 'tsemistri'. "

"Okay, let's not problematize that."

"Define comes from the words FINE...fee-neh ah...FINIS...and FIN, which means END.
So DEFINE MEANS DE-END."

Next time I must pay attention more to what they say...

The Teaching System

No..the real title is "Okrador", hahaha
but I'm just protecting myself from scrutiny so I think I must think of a reason why it is the title.

One: This is about my teachers...
Two: My teachers are boring...well just a few...and I don't like the teaching.

I do understand their TRADITIONAL WAY of teaching...
But HELLOOOOOH, each Psych student pays around PhP 3,000 per sem as fee for a three-unit subject alone.
I have 29 Units of subjects... so that would be around PhP 21,000 (I'm sorry I don't wanna calculate it'll take too much time haha I hate even simple arithmetic....).

I wouldn't pay that for teachers who:

...I don't see much in class.
(So, ganoon ba kamahal ang presensya nila?)
Except if the teacher is very good...very intellectual.
That alone will compensate...like Sir Gonzaga.
He knows well what he is teaching.

...Those who don't even use the PC's and the built-in LCD of the room.
(Eh di decoration lang 'yung mga 'yun???)
Well except for the teacher who is a walking book already.
Like Sir de Guzman. In Nuroanatomy we subsisted only on his lecture. No multimedia, just his drawings of the parts of the CNS. Still the best.

...Those who want US to teach ourselves through reports.
Sir Gonzaga and Ma'am Cris are examples of those teachers who loves class reportings.
Still they supplement the reports with thorough examples and clarifications.
Those are interactive. Those are alright. Except this one:
Well I know another teacher who bases h_ _ quizzes and exams on our reports. (hai...galing...)

...Those who would only go to class to chat with us.

OMG naman...

But I wouldn't mention those who failed us... but the good profs must be given due merit.

All the Psych teachers.
The Filipino teacher who loves talking. Patay di makatapos ng isang chapter in three meetings. But AT LEAST SHE TOTALLY EXPOUNDS ON THE TOPIC.

There's someone whom I do not like her style.
This teacher has the most number of critics...

This teacher's nice BUT I hope she teaches properly from now on.
Even the book of that teacher is erroneous.
The subject is notoriously boring but it can be transformed into something more interesting. What is the use of the LCD? Tsk..tsk... "Sayang..."

Okay maybe that's it... I hope I wouldn't encounter those kind of teachers in the future.

Musings...

1. When you enter the BREAK-UP Hotel, you'd see on its mirror TWO FACES:

First...A face who smiles and fakes it.

Second...A face who frowns and shows it.

In just one environment I saw both.

One is a cheerful, optimistic and neutral person
who spends time doing her responsibilities and talking to his boyfriend on the phone.
I should have warned her. Her boyfriend's status and age are telltale signs.
I just once told her "Be careful when the fourth month comes".

Then she started sending heart-breaking text quotes.

And now she isn't neutral anymore...she belongs now to a group...
she's still optimistic...she still smiles...her fantasy is gone.

"My shattered dreams and broken heart
Are mending on the shelf
I saw you holding hands
Standing close to someone else
Now I sit all alone
Wishing all my feelings was gone
I gave my best to you
Nothing for me to do
But have one last cry"

Then there's this girl...she belongs to the socialites' circle...very kikay and nice person...
I could still remember her sweetest smiles whenever she would tell me of this somebody who would give her "kilig to the max".

One day...I lose track of what was happening...then I just noticed her gloom.

Now...she doesn't even smile always anymore...
her genuine smiles and laughs are snatched away by the jerk.
Curse the guy,whoever it is.
That is the downside of love. So be careful in choosing.
Choose not based on superficial reasons...but on the ultimate ones.
Do not enter a relationship just for the sake or heck of it.
It might just wreck both of you...your friendship...even yourself.
I tell you... it might affect you all your life.

2. There's the fairest weather after the storm.

After the tandem storms Mina and Lando wreaked havoc in this Philippines, I just woke up to see the clearest sky that I ever saw this year. It was cloudless; it was just a whole span of heavenly blue hue, like staring at a baby's large clear blue irises in his eyes. And the northeastern monsoon bringing the coolest winds of the year.

The moral? It goes like "There's a rainbow always after the rain."

I mean, when you experience something painful, unpleasant, forgettable...just remember that something beautiful will eventually come to your life. When you're hurt, you may not understand what I mean. Give yourself time. Then you'll eventually discover what is that good thing in your life.

3. Love still turns the world around...even makes it upside-down.

I never thought this friend of mine in college will be softened by this four-letter word. We would still reminisce about that moment when he told me about "her" and I reacted with a loud half-disbelieving, half-surprised "AANOOOOOOOOOHHHH?!?!?!?!?!

One Monday morning at Ate Eva's (UST Main Bldg. Fourth Fl. Branch), I learned that while I was agonizing over my corporal punishment for gluttony (a.k.a. throwing up+diarrhea+loss of electrolytes+stomachache), he was satiating his need for "love". HAHA! I never thought he would soon feel that mushy feeling. Mushy, mushy feeling...He was such a toughie person, an atheist-wanna-be, then he would be jelly-legged and too emotional whenever he remember a secret that was disclosed to him.

So, everyday I could see the power of love being exercised on this big big confused guy. And my perception of him is also radically changed. How could such a toughie person be soooooooo affected with one single secret? Such mysteries of love and life.

Therefore...I conclude: never ever judge a person too soon. Just as our Logic teacher has told us: "When you judge someone, you stop knowing that person."

Hmm...phenomenological statement.

The Worst Pizza Experience

After our Thursday class, may inasikaso pa ako for our softball team.
I joined Natz and Noel later sa Plaza Mayor...ako magtuturo kung nasaan ang Yellow Cab sa Lacson.
Pagdating doon, isang 10-inch. N.Y.
It tasted like bubblegum and I could feel the nuts in my mouth....weird...but still delectable.
And I also ate half the pizza. I didn't know why my stomach suddenly expanded to accomodate all the food inside.

3AM
I woke up with my stomach making ungol.
Then I started throwing up, puking, vomiting, regurgitating(??)

Buscopan at......basta.

Moral Lesson: gluttony is a no-no kahit fave food mo pa ang nakahain...

First Trip to Baguio

Nov. 1, 2007 Thursday
All Saint's Day

Most of us would visit their deceased loved ones on this day. Not our family. Our deceased were in Bataan and Bicol. So we went to Baguio. (????)
Our second-hand Hi-Lander was filled with food for the trip. At around 7:30AM, we left Meycauayan.

NLEX. Pampanga. Tarlac.Pangasinan...

We went to Our Lady of Manaog Shrine where we ate our packed lunch (fried chicken and cold rice) and bought really inexpensive bracelt and necklaces. I bought two necklaces for Marc and for myself. Mine was made of pink plastic flower beads. His was made of some sort of lustrous black metal beads. Both had crucifixes dangling from the necklaces.

La Union. Marcos Highway.

It was such a winding trip "up in the sky"!
The clouds seemed to caress the mountains.
Then after this long overpass at the side of the mountains, we finally saw a city civilization: Baguio.
So we drove on, not knowing where we were going...it was because it was OUR FIRST TIME TO ASCEND there. Mother had been there ONCE. And she wasn't familiar with the place. Father tried that steep narrow road down down...
I felt "It was wrong...."
Then my hunch was confirmed.
I saw that street sign: KENNON ROAD.
Oh God we were going back to Manila!
(False alarm: Going back to Manila via Kennon Road!)

We were able to go back to the heart of the city.
Father parked the Hi-Lander somewhere inside the Burnham Park. And we had a boat ride for only P100 (boat rentec for 40 min.+rower) at the 3-feet man-made lake.

Later, we checked in at the Ina Mansion Condo. 1st Floor. Unit 10.
It was claustrophobic. Kitchenette and dining area in one, a typical bathroom, a small T.V. area (just 1/4 of our living room at home), and three small bedrooms. Two had glass doors. I loved glass doors but not in this situation. I was spooked by those. I chose to be with my two sisters in one bedroom and sleep in a mattress on the floor than sleep on that room. My brother had that spooky room all for himself.
The water from the faucet was even colder than the water inside the ref!
And it was really cold...no electric fans or aircon.

FRIDAY
Itinerary:
Camp John Hay.
We were not able to ride horses.
The garden Amphitheater.
Nice garden THAT LOOKED LIKE AN AMPHITHEATER just beside the Bell House. Our voices boomed and echoed as my brother and I spoke inside the small pavillion at the heart of the garden. We were also the first visitors of the Bell House, the house of the American generals who took vacations in Baguio.
Outside we saw the wooden Totem Pole carved with the heads of important American officers during the American Occupation in the Philippines.
We trekked down and up the History Trail and saw the Secret Garden.
We also loved reading the tombstones at the Cemetery of Negativism.
An example of those was this (It's WHAT was REALLY WRITTEN THERE)

Its Not Pessible
Still Not Born

Mine View Park. A scenic view of the mountains!
Picture taking with a large St. Benard.
Bought my longest dangling earrings ever.
Bought jars of strawberry preserves and lots of brooms.

WE saw The Mansion and parked beside the Wright Park. Kuya took a picture of The Mansion and of the long pool-like fountain beside the Wright Park.
I bought cheaper earrings out of pity to the vendor girl.

Lunh at the aircon-less SM City Baguio.
Ate at Greenwich.
Watched Hide and Seek at the third floor.
Panoramic scenery when viewed from the mall's veranda/balcony.
I was curious about the umbrella-like roofing of the mall. It was out of the ordinary.
Too tired to dine outside the condo.
SATURDAY

Morning: Bought mini-roses and poinsettia at Burnham's Orchidarium.
Unable to buy inexpensive silver.....

LATE MORNING: WE started to descend via Marcos H-way. again... I saw the Naguillan Road. Took a long less traveled road to avoid traffic. "Raced" with new branded vehicles at NLEX, trash-talking about their slowness. Reached home at 4PM.

"Inday...Deal or No Deal???!!!!" (from Danella Louise)

Nasali si Inday sa Deal or No Deal
Kris: Ok Inday, choose a briefcase.
Inday: Kris, I would opt for case #4 please.
Kris: Briefcase # 4... si Sharmel. Inday, matanong ko lang, how did you come up with the number 4?
Inday: Oh, do you really want to know Kris?
Kris: Oo naman. I'm sure kaya ko naman maintindihan yung sasabihin mo eh.
Inday: The number 4 was acquired based on a probability distribution function that involves integrating up to an area greater than or equal to that random number which should be generated between 0 and 1 for proper distributions.
Kris: Syet. tanong tanong pa kasi eh.
Kris: Ok Inday, choose 6 briefcases to open.
Inday: I would opt for 7, 24, 12, 2, 15 and 20.
Inday: Why is that? As if I can change the outcome if we're to open a case each time I blurt out a number as opposed to opening each case immediately one after the other right?
Inday: Kris, I guess that's not the way I was taught in grade school. You see, I was taught that we should only use the comparative form of the word or add "ER" to the adjective if we are comparing two things. And since itis only the first briefcase that we are going to open, we have nothing to compare it to. Am I right?
[natahimik ang audience at napaisip]
Kris: Oo nga no!
Kris: Sige Natalie, Buksan mo na.
[Ang laman ng briefcase 7 ay Piso... Palakpakan ang mga tao]
Kris: Good start! Ano yung next case mo ulit?
Inday: Case number 24 please.
Kris: Chloe... buksan na...
[Audience sumisigaw ulit ng LOWER!! LOWER!!]
Kris: Wait lang guys, Inday may nabuksan ng case baket di ka pa rin sumisigaw ng "Lower"?Inday: Oh my goodness Kris, how long have you been doing this? Have youe ver encountered a value that is lower than a peso in this game? Tell me,is there any value left lower than the one we just opened? Sheesh.
[Napaisip ulit ang audience at natahimik]
Kris: Aarrgghh!!!!
Inday: Ahh Kris, to save more time can you tell Banker that I'm not interested in his first offer. In the history of this game of chance, I have yet to see someone accept a first offer from the banker. It's quite pathetic and pretentious for contestants to pause and look around the audience as if asking for advice before ultimately rejecting the first offer. I mean come on, isn't that a waste of airtime?
Banker: Potahhh!!!
Ano name nya?
Inday: Ahh, that's my master Mr. Montemayor.
Kris: Ahhh siya pala yun, how cute naman pala eh. Sige sir, give us anumber.
Mr. Montemayor: Hi Kris, good evening. I'm a fan. I choose number 12 please.
Kris: Ano Inday ok ba yung number 12?
Inday: Whatever, we shouldn't bite the hand that feeds us anyway. Go ahead.
Kris: [taray naman] Sofie, buksan na!
[ang laman ng briefcase 12 ay 5,000]
Kris: Good job!
Mr. Montemayor? What's his name?
Inday: Ahh, that's my on again off again boyfriend, Dodong the gardener.
Kris: Ooohh, sya pala yun. Ok Dodong, give us a number!
Dodong: Hi babes, I choose briefcase 9 if it's ok with you. If not, it's ok with me as long as it's ok with you.
Kris: Ano raw? Inday, number 9 daw ok say0?
Inday: Yes Kris, it's fine with me.
Inday: YOU!!!
Nagkatitigan sina Inday at Ederlyn.
Inday: What? Can you speak up? What are you mumbling up there. Can somebody give her a microphone please?
Kris: Ano ba!!
Inday: NooOoo.... (sabay tingin kay Dodong at napapaluha), how could you...
Dodong: I'm so sorry Inday, please forgive me.
Kris: Hayyy, drama again.
Kris: Inday, are you okay? Ang offer ni banker ay 99 thousand pesos. 'Singrami siguro ng
Pilipinong pinadugo mo na ilong. Is it a Deal or No Deal?
Kris: Wait lang, kung mapapansin ninyo we have only have 5 cases left, and among those 5, apat doon ay mas maliit na value...
Inday: Kris, do you mind? Can I do my own thinking?
Kris: Taray to the max! (pabulong sa sarili)
Inday: Ok, I'm ready. Upon looking at the reality of the situation, 80% ofthe cases left have at least 49K less than the banker's offer. The only wayI can do better than what is offered is that if my case contains the 500kor I'd get to open one of the four lower values. But I have to keep in mindthat there's only 20% probability that this would happen. I have to takenote, however, that the banker's offer is roughly around 15% lower than theoffer I expected based on the arithmetic mean of the values left.
Kris: Lorddd... panaginip ba 'to? Ayokonaaa....
Inday: Accepting a deal for less than the mean should generally be regarded as a weak decision so I would say, NO DEAL!
Sige Inday, go ahead and choose 1 briefcase!
Inday: Ok Kris, I choose briefcase #5 please?
Kris: Briefcase #5! Mimi bago mo buksan yan I would first like to thank Figliarina by Schubizz for my sandals, Bambi Fuentes for my hair and make-up and Pepsi Herrera for my gown tonight.
Kris: Ok Mimi, buk...
Inday: Ahh Kris, can I also take time to thank a few people? I mean, I did save us a few minutes of airtime right?
Inday: Thanks! Yes, I would like to thank Frank Provost for my hair and make-up, Jimmy Choo for my sandals and my dear friend Oscar dela Renta for my gown tonight.
BLAG!!
Inday: Oh, and thanks to the people of Cartier for sending me these nice earrings for tonight!
[Ito ang isa sa mga un-aired episode ng Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal]

Irregular p.1

Oct. 25, 2007 Tue. UST Seminary Gym

Encoding. Assessment of Payment. Tatak diyan, tatak doon.

“Pa’no kaya magcross-enroll?”

Tatatakan. Sasabihing “Bio” kahit na ang binagsak mo ay “A-L-G-E-B-R-A”. Umikot kami sa 3rd. Floor.

“We will resume at 1 o’clock.”

“Dati ‘yun! Bittersweet memories.”

“Available for all” ang fries nila bogs at Bryan.

Patay. Baka mahiwalay siya.

Subject: Algebra
Code: Math101
Section: BIOSP1
Time: 10-11AM

Home Section: 1PSY-1
Chua
Duran
Estonina
Rabang
Santos
Tracena

Tedlos

IRREG = HASSLE + WASTED TIME + MORE EXPENSES

Hassle…dumalas pagpunta ko UST dahil dito.
Lalo naman kung nagcross-enroll pa ako.
Wasted time… hanggang summer ba naman, mag-aaral ako?!?
More expenses…another bayarin, summer na nga, namamasahe pa ako mula Bulacan.

It only struck me now.
Walang kwenta ang puro line of 1 or 2 kung may 5.

“Hindi maisasalba ng uno ang singko.”
